Is there any way to opt out of these or turn off user tracking on here? Personally I’m not a big fan of it. I don’t know what I’ve been doing, don’t want to know what I’ve been doing and I don’t want other people to know! : D

Truly not a big deal but it would be nice to have the option.

I also found this suggestion thread to include Year Rewind opt-out in the profile settings

I personally adore the year rewind since it makes lurkers like me to feel more included in the community :relieved_face:

On the other hand, for privacy conscious folks it's a reminder that user data on any platform is public and readily accessible :index_pointing_up:

in other words by publicly disclosing this data, discourse invites privacy conscious users to evaluate their privacy settings without nagging emails :wink:

Thanks - that option’s helpful but it does seem to opt you out of everything, which I don’t see the need for. Discourse is just a little too invasive in regard to personal stats etc in my opinion as someone privacy-focused. I’d like to see an option to switch off the Rewind if possible.

And in general it would be good to switch off some of these “read” stats etc but still make your public profile available as I’ve nothing to hide… I just don’t like to see how much time I’ve spent here! : P
