What issue do you have?
Hello I, just Sig up for Joplin cloud to support the project. I would like to move all my notes from one drive.I, manage to export and import on Joplin. Then I, start syncing with Joplin cloud. I know its a lot of stuff (10 years). On Linux it takes one day to see my notes. On Android are almost 2 days and I have only a bounch of notes. Logs and sync status seems ok.
There is a, way to speed up the process? Thanks
On Android, you could disable downloading resources - go in Options => Synchronisation to change this
Thanks I follow your suggestion. Unfortunately it's almost a week and even in I, try to reinstall the app my status is, like this
How many notes and resources (aka file attachments) do you have? I did all right with 10k notes and 20k resources on Joplin Cloud, as long as I disabled attachment sync on android as explained above.
Hello thank you for Reaching out. I, set notes Attachment in manual mode.
I don't know how many notes and Attachment I, have.
I, try to figure it out on my Linux box with no luck.
cheers
The sync seems finished but I see this. And after 5min it start again.
I am loosing hope. I think that Joplin could replace anytype or onenote.
What is it that you see? It seems fine? Or do you mean it's still synchronising?
Hello it's stay in sync forever.
I can't see only the first notes. Than the sync continues and never ends.
I use Joplin cloud and end 2end encryption
I really like the app I use both on, windows and Linux.
Thank you
Your status screens above seem to show that everything is synced actually.
Could you please post the screenshot of the left sidebar, where it shows the synchronisation progress?
Exactly It seems that everything is working fine but I see only 62 notes no notebook ;nothing.
And after five minutes it start s again synchronize hundred of notes.
in the picture the actual setup of my notes taked from my Linux box.
I mean at the bottom of the sidebar, it shows the sync process - this is what we'd need to see.
Also logs may help understand what's happening
This is, what my android looks like.
Stai in sync forever it's more than a week by now.
I start thinking of remove biometric to access to the app.
cheers
Sorry I forgot to share log file
mobile-log.log (7.6 MB)
And how many items you have in total - if you go in the desktop app, then Help => Status, what does it say?
Also you should plug your phone and let it sync overnight to let it finish.
Laurent thank you so much for the help an patience with my english.
I send the app results.
Every night I leaves my phone active and in charge.
You have lots of resources but not that many notes actually.
Just to confirm did you disable downloading resources as I mentioned above? You should set the option for example to "automatic", which means it will automatically download the resources when you open a note, but it won't do it before that.
Edit: according to the log, you did set it to automatic so it should be fine. I don't really understand why it takes so long to be honest, as it should be much faster. Are you possibly on a slow internet connection?
Also you didn't mention what version of the Android mobile app you're using.
Hello the version is 3.3.8.
My connection not fast as ligthing but quite good.
I ended up in reistalling and perfom a new syncronization. From this morning it syncronized 1700 item. Cheers
Ok make sure you also set the download option again. You have about 15000 items that need to be synchronised without the resources so it shouldn't take so long
Hello,
same behavior. I see only the first 60 notes and the sync go in over and over. It's almost 48 hours by now
mobile-log (1).log (4.3 MB)
So sorry bother you. I really like the, app and I would like to use on Android too.
Kind regards
Hi there, I'd keep sync running a bit longer. Make sure your Android isn't sleeping, also Joplin has to be on top.
I had around 10k notes when I moved to Joplin, and with resources the total was maybe 60k. The first sync took me three days of continuously watching the screen on my phone.
Once the first sync is done, it is super fast.
Laurent was the best for me, too!
