Indicating which notebooks are empty in breadcrumbs could prevent users from unintentionally selecting them. I say this as selecting an empty notebook hides breadcrumbs, which seems unintentional.
Empty notebooks can act even more like dead ends when they don't have to. Note history keyboard shortcuts are disabled by default, and I don't know if the plugin's Show navigation buttons option is enabled by default.
Looking forward to when this or a similar plugin receives updates.
Hello, how do i remove tabs on Android please? Ive used tabs on Joplin desktop since the beginning & I just realised i could now use tabs on Android. I set up 3 tabs whilst playing/testing & now cant see a way to close/remove the ones i dont need. Cheers
I found a bug: when using joplin's new "Edit in new window" feature, focusing on the note in the separate window causes a tab to be opened in the main window.
Steps:
Edit note in new window
Focus on note
Result: note-tabs shows a tab for the note in the other window
Expected result: note-tabs does not create a new tab for that note in the main window
EDIT: Also, in the above scenario, a tab is created & highlighted (incorrect)... but the note content itself is not shown in the main-window (correct). This leads to inconsistent UI state (e.g. the note tab shows a certain note as active, but it's not the content being actually shown).
Tap the right side of the tab to pin or unpin it. The tab won't disappear right away if it's selected since it becomes a temporary tab (default settings, I think there's a way to change it). It can be a bit finicky due to the small size of the spot you have to tap.
On Mobile in particular it quickly becomes difficult to see all of my tabs and have some idea what each of them even are (I can only see the first couple characters).
Bug: Changing Tab layout doesn't work on Mobile (Android).
While looking for a solution to my tab layout issues I tried forcing both horizontal and Vertical Layouts but it didn't change anything.
Being able to either list the tabs out vertically with wider tabs so I can see more of the title or have multiple rows with wider tabs for the same reason would be a huge improvement for me.
I just started using tabs and it is very useful, but I do not find a way to acutally close a tab. Even if I unpin it, the tab stays open, and clicking the small cross does not change anything. What am I doing wrong? There is no context menue, and I do not find any "close"-command.
My keyboard shortcuts for switching left, switching right, and closing a tab are no longer working, even though my keymap-desktop.json file remains unchanged (see below). Does anyone have any ideas?
Feature request: when using tabToggleVisibility, can notes NOT be pinned while tabs are not visible? This is the behavior I expected, but not what is happening. With tabs not visible, I opened three notes. When I toggled tabs visibility again the three tabs were displayed, meaning notes are getting pinned in the background, even when tabs are not visible. I was hoping for a way to temporarily disable the plugin when it is not visible. Is this possible?
I am on 3.312, Win10. But I realized that closing the pinned tab sometimes works, sometimes not, as if some overlay or zooming would prevent clicking the cross. Maybe it is a plugin related issue.
Note Tabs is probably my most used Joplin plugin. I thought it didn't work on Android, then disabled the Outline plugin on Android and Note Tabs started to work on my phone! I was so excited. But then I tried to close a tab, and I cannot figure out how to do that. I can press and hold and the note tab will change color, but there is no UI element I can see to close the tab selected. Anyone have any success closing a tab in the plugin panel on Android? I'm really hoping I'm just missing something obvious and this can be done. I've tried every option I can think of (horiz/vert layout, changing drop-down values in "Unpin active tab behavior", etc.
Can you add Toggle Note Tabs to keyboard shortcuts with no key-sequence assigned by default? Right now, I can assign a key-sequence to pin a tab, but sometimes I like to toggle the list of tabs out of the way. The only way to do that currently is to go through the menus—a PITA if you do it frequently.
Since this plugin was developed, we have got the possibility to open multiple instances of Joplin by double clicking a note or right-click > Open in new window.
I would love if this plugin gave us the opportunity to open notes as new instances in tabs as well. That way the complete tab state is saved and switching back and forth between two tabs is frictionless just like in browser tabs. Do you think this would be feasible @benji300 ?
