No problem. We're happy to help you anytime.
@laurent even I faced this issue with the latest version of Joplin AND macOS BOTH. Do mac users have to disable gatekeeper to use the app. Do we have any kind of fix for this?
Im realy want to thanks to every one here. The
application is a very good one.
Josef
Maybe you would have to request from Apple to be an identified developer?
@josefcarel read here:
OK I will make a complain to Apple. Joplin is a very good
application.
Thanks a lot
Josef
Thanks @bedwardly-down for the info. Apple is such a painful companion sometimes
They have the money and marketshare to be as locked in as they want with their ecosystem. I'm contributing to them by having a small handful of Apple products too.
Me too.
My intention a long time ago is to totally change my OS to Linux. At the moment I am using Linux Mint on my Macbook Pro but through Parallels as Virtual Machine, But I am looking for a Laptop that is compatible with Linux. If anyone has a proposal?
Linux can run on pretty much any hardware. You just need to choose a distro, run a live CD or usb of it and see what you like
Thanks for your advice
Hy Laurent, I have found the following page in Apple and an option to Enroll in a program for developers. Maybe you just know that before but maybe you can give a try
@josefcarel, if you read the rest of the post I linked, Laurent already has an Apple Developers account but the testing services he uses on the Github repo to make sure everything builds properly across all Desktop platforms doesn’t support their requirements to make an official Apple store app. He also would need to upgrade to Catalina, which would break compatibility with his work software. So, the current system is staying the way it is for the time being for those reasons.
Ok, Im very sorry. I was trying to help
Open the Finder and go to Applications. Press and hold the Option key and right-click on Joplin then click on “Open”. That works for me.
The solution for me was to disable gatekeeper then I could make the install and its working well.
Thanks any way
Josef
Yeah that’s the last option for mac users to disable the security at all to fix this. Very happy to help always.
Does disabling Gatekeeper possibly lead to other issues?
