No, no problems
Thanks Josef. What sync option are you using? I use OneDrive and ever since I upgraded to Catalina, I have not been able to sync to OneDrive. The sync button in the Joplin UI does nothing and looking in Joplin’s logs it seems that it will no longer communicate with OneDrive. I’ve reset/ reinstalled multiple times… I really think its a Catalina thing…

Thanks Josef. Good to hear. I have too much data for my free Dropbox account … so am constrained there. Very sad I cannot get OneDrive working for Joplin on the Mac.
Steve
Can you maybe try an other cloud option?
Disabling the Gatekeeper doesn't seem to be a good option in the long term. Putting the program into the App Store seem to be more sane. For example, I do not have to disable iPhone security to use Joplin on an iPhone. If the MacOS App Store means overhead, you also could aks for a small fee. Small fee or disabling MacOS security. Fair enough.
Well, i have it just installed but also i dont know how to talk with Apple about this.
Thanks
Yes, probably for Mac OS users, who are used to paying for different stuff. Maybe, we, can have an option of either a payed official app or an unofficial one which requires Gatekeeper to be disabled
There’s a reason for it not being on the Mac App Store: it would require upgrading to Catalina for Laurent, and, as discussed elsewhere, he has work related software that is incompatible with the operating system and would need to repurchase licenses and whatnot. Also, both he and Tessus are wary about some of the issues they’ve seen with the release and how locked down Apple is making cross-platform development.

I have a small amount of experience with App Store releases, so I find it worth noting that an Apple Developer account can cover multiple users, rather than just the account's owner/founder. Are there any other maintainers with access to later versions of macOS who could be trusted to build and release a version of Joplin for macOS?

There are plenty of Electron and React Native applications in the Mac App Store. See, for example, the Mac version of Facebook Messenger. Since React Native is captained by Facebook, it's a big boat that won't go down easily.
And, anyway, it's not unusual for applications to be available both through the Mac App Store and through third-party distribution; basically the entire catalog of the Omni Group works that way. It's also the norm for a variety of libre applications, such as Cyberduck; the Mac App Store versions just offer the convenience of automatic updates as well as a potential secondary revenue stream to support development.
(If you went the route of App Store revenue, I would be more strongly inclined towards in-app purchases than an up-front fee. While I don't imagine you would be able—or inclined—to provide subscription-based sync hosting anytime soon, it could be nice to be able to pay a small amount of money to display a cute badge in the application's user interface to make a user feel proud of supporting you guys.)
Also I just remembered that you can multi-boot different versions of macOS, which I'm pretty sure is an officially supported way of developing for multiple targets. I have, in fact, done this myself when I needed to use a specific version of Xcode for iOS development.
