What issue do you have?

Previous topic

I have now purchased three different Android phones (Android 11, 13, 14 Close to stock Android - Blackview and Ulefone). Now even an older Blackview Android phone no longer syncing.
Problem does not seem associated with size of notebook being 8000 records as I have now spilt across two notebooks without solving issues.
Synching to iOS and Windows desktop still functioning 100% fine.
I am fully aware that as a non-coder, it is a questionable whether I have the skills needed to be a user of open source apps like Joplin.
I am happy to offer £50.00 to any one able to give me some 1-1 support to get my Joplin life back on track.

Could you provide the log for one of the devices that doesn't sync?

Also when you say it doesn't sync, what does it do exactly when you press on the synchronise button?

Hi Laurent
Generally the device appears to be going through the sync process in an endless 24hr loop, where a few thousand records in, it self-cancels and then after that starts all over again. On a fresh installation not a single note gets downloaded.
I have followed your previous advice to turn off auto download of attachments and images.
Sometimes this error message is shown: "Could not acquire sync lock."
Have done fresh installs from scratch, after a restart on all devices. Even on two devices a full factory reset.

I love the wonder that is Joplin by the way!

There is no way to sync 8k notes with Dropbox, this is your problem imho. Use Joplin Cloud instead. Dropbox sync struggles if you have many notes, but Joplin Cloud is optimized for it. When Dropbox takes 10 hours, Joplin Cloud takes 1 hour.

I have 10k notes, please check my experience here: How to survive with a large dataset on Joplin (10k notes, 20k resources, 10GB)

I also have the problem you mentioned above, but my notes are only 1.2k.

My old Honor 70 mobile device had Joplin installed before and could sync normally. Recently, I changed to a new phone VIVO X100. After installing and configuring Joplin apk on the new phone, it kept showing synchronization problems.

Today I changed the screen time of the phone to 10 minutes, opened Joplin on my VIVO X 100—>Synchronize—>Encryption Configuration, and looked at the progress number of "Decrypted Entries". Finally, the synchronization download was completed, and all the data was downloaded to Joplin on my new phone. You can try this method.

So you mean the overall screen lock time for the device.
Meaning that only when the screen is turned on does the full sync complete?
I thought the sync was not connected with the screen being locked or not.
I will try that later on one of the devices.

Thanks for the suggestion, all suggestions however crazy sounding are appreciated!

Joplin does not have a background sync on mobile devices. When Joplin is closed, sent to the background or the device is put into sleep (display off), the sync is interrupted.
