'Synchronize' hangs for OneDrive

Joplin tries to perform automatic synchronization, but it seems the synchronization process hangs and never completes. When I click on the "Cancel" button, it still cannot end the sync process. If I close the app and reopen it, the problem persists. I think only if I restart my computer and bring up Joplin again, the synchronization happens properly.

I am using OneDrive as cloud service (haven't tried any other provider). This is happening on both the computers where I have Joplin installed. One of them has Windows and the other Ubuntu as OS.

Joplin version 1.5.11 (prod, win32)
Operating system: Windows 10 Home & Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (64 bit)
Being synchronized to OneDrive

I believe the current version of Joplin has a fix for this issue.
