I'm using the Plugin: Repeating To-Dos and it works fine.
But I still think this should be a core feature of the app, that can be used by other plugins.

I would like to see this as well. I'm migrating all my stuff among others from the Things App - which makes a wonderful job in usability (overall design), enhanced Alarm features and by the way Tags, which can be nested - one more layer would be enough to achieve more structure - a feature i also really miss in Joplin...
I would also find this to be incredibly useful!
This is going on since 2019, and yet it seems there is no interest by the developer. It's a shame. Like many, it's the only thing that's not allowing me to 'rest' with Joplin. Love Joplin, but this feature is crucial.
I would also like to see this feature incorporated into Joplin. I would like to move all of my annual reminders from Outlook (where they block an entire day in the calendar view) to Joplin.
P.S. The above-mentioned plugin is not available in Joplin on iPad and is no longer maintained.
