What issue do you have?
tried to download latest update, wouldn't install. After closing and reopening Joplin, no notes appear. Tried to import bakup JEX file, still no notes appear!

Note: I'm assuming that you're using Joplin Desktop (not the portable version) on Windows 10 or 11.
Joplin stores notes and attachments in a subdirectory of C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\.config
, its profile directory.
I suggest making a backup copy of this directory. To do this,
C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\.config\joplin-desktop\
.The portable version of Joplin stores its notes in a different location from the installable Joplin application. If there's a problem with the Joplin profile stored in C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\.config\joplin-desktop\
, this should help avoid it.
