IOS Joplin v13.0.6 sync to NextCloud never finishes

Operating system

iOS

Joplin version

13.0.6

Desktop version info

Joplin 3.0.13 (prod, darwin)

Sync target

Nextcloud

What issue do you have?

I have two Joplin systems:
MacOS Sonoma v14.5 with Joplin 3.0.13 (prod, darwin)
iPhone 14 IOS v17.5.1 with Joplin 13.0.6 (prod, ios)
I have encryption turned on and had the Joplin Mac app create the key and master pw before initial sync.
No proxy for sync.

I am sync'ing to NextCloud:
NextCloud All-in-one (AIO) v9.1.0 prepackaged NC docker container. It's running NextCloud Hub 8 (29.0.3)
Ubuntu Server 22.04.4 LTS.

I created my documents on the Mac and sync'd to NextCloud. Joplin on Mac says the sync was successful Based on the file sizes in NextCloud, it seems like the sync worked from the Mac to NextCloud. My database.sqllite file in the Mac .config/joplin-desktop folder is 186 MB, and the .config/joplin-desktop/resources folder shows a total file size of 22.9 GB. The Joplin folder on the NextCloud WebDav server show 13.9GB.

I installed Joplin IOS v13.0.6, configured the sync to NextCloud, and set up the encryption. No errors.

When I start Joplin on IOS, the sync starts automatically. I get the expected Fetched and Completed messages without errors, and the Sync Status says I have four folders with less than 200 notes. However, the Mac Joplin I have synced with NextCloud has 56 folders and many thousands of items. The sync of the complete collection never completes, and I never get more than the first few folders.

I tried deleting the Joplin app from IOS and reinstalling and reconfiguring it. After several days of supposedly syncing, I still only have four folders.

I am trying to move from another system (Evernote or Zoho Notebook), but this might be a showstopper if I cannot get IOS to completely sync.

Any suggestions on how to get Joplin IOS to do a complete sync would be appreciated.
