iOS App Won't Sync / Settings Issue

iOS App Will Not Synchronize

Devices:
MacBook Pro: macOS 10.15.7 / Joplin 2.4.12 (prod, darwin)
iPhone 11 Pro Max: iOS 15.0.2 / Joplin 12.4.2

New user:

  1. Installed Joplin on Mac chose Dropbox sync, successful, no problems.
  2. Installed Joplin on iPhone, opened configuration window:
    Selected Date and Time formats
    Selected Synchronization target: Dropbox

Returned to main screen/ side panel/ tap on Synchronize
Configuration window popped up, fields previously selected had returned to defaults
Date and Time formats returned to defaults
Synchronization Target field also returns to (None)
Settings not accepted and saved.

Uninstalled app, rebooted phone, reinstalled app.
No change, will not accept settings selected.
Please advise, Thank You

If you can also please provide a log, as described here: How to enable debugging | Joplin

Posts that do not at least state the version number and operating system will not be answered.

@zensrx welcome to the forum.

I do not use the mobile apps any more and even then it was the Android one, so this is just a wild guess. But IIRC after changing settings you did not just go back to the main screen, there was a save button near the return button that needed to be pressed.

Brilliant! I found the save button, a rather obscure icon directly alongside the back arrow in the upper left. An icon that seemed to be single purpose only. Now sync works perfectly. Thank You!
