Import of .enex file fails at random record with "unclosed root tag"

Looking forward to migrating from Evernote to Joplin. Just installed on Windows 10 Home, Joplin 2.12.19 (prod, win32)

I have successfully imported a couple small notebooks. It was unclear whether I should import Markdown or HTML, but HTML seems to be faster and more reliable.

The current (problem) .ENEX file is a Notebook that contains 145 notes. I am importing from a local directory on my Windows machine. The import has stopped with an error message "unclosed root tag" which also shows the title of the note being imported. When I click OK on the message box a script window opens that I don't know what do with.

I must "quit" Joplin as the import fails to make any further progress, then restart, delete the incompletely imported notebook and try again. Each time I attempt the import I have been able to import more notes and have gotten successfully to 125 but seem to have reached the limit as each time I try to import it fails at note 125. The size of the .enex file is 52,123kb.

Most of the notes in this notebook consist of a title formatted like this example:
"123.99, meals, 1/4/23" and the body of the note is a picture taken with an iPhone (a notebook of saved receipts). The notes that are successfully imported look great, but I need to determine how to more reliably import the rest of this and the 50 or so more of my notebooks.

Thank you for your help with this!
Bart

We'd need to see the ENEX file that's causing a problem to be able to help. Are you able to export as ENEX just that note that's causing an issue? If not, can you share the whole notebook of 145 notes?

In any case, please provide the output from the console: How to enable debugging | Joplin

Is there a way I can send you a link to enex rather than posting it to the entire forum?
