What issue do you have?

This is both a question and a statement.

I'm in the middle of migrating to Joplin from Evernote. 90% of this works great. But I get failed imports with 'unclosed root tag' or ‘unexpected close tag’ errors a lot on the following two types of notes

  1. Exported notes in enex format that contain PDFs
  2. Exported notes in enex format that are web clippings.

I'm solving this by simply exporting the PDFs and then importing (tedious but it works). However, I have tried to export the web clippings as HTML but this creates one html file and a subfolder for the images. And so far I have not found the correct option (if there is one) for Joplin to import the html with the images in the subfolder included.

Any suggestions would be great. Otherwise, I will just export those as PDF and import into Joplin

Thanks for this tool.

Hi,

I am also moving from Evernote to Joplin and haven't tested this yet so I will do so and let you know what my results are.

If I get it to work I'll post my results here.

Another consistent… if the enex file is larger than ~3MB, it will error. This is USUALLY due to one or more individual notes in the export having pictures or embedded files. Removing that note from the exported notebook usually allows Joplin to import successfully.
