Graphics issues in Mint 20

Hi, I just installed Joplin in Mint 20. It looks great and I am looking forward to using it, however i am experiencing some weird graphics issues when running it.

Mostly it is just cosmetic stuff that is annoying but not the end of the world - such as glitchy highligting when mousing over a note, or the typing cursor behaving weirdly when moving around - but sometimes it ends up looking like this:

Has anyone else had these issues? and do you know how to fix it? Is it just an issue with my computer? I have never had this problem with any other appilcations before..

The version I am using is:

Joplin 1.4.19 (prod, linux)

How did you install it? Did you use the recommended Installation Script?

Not sure how it's possible, but maybe a video driver issue, or some regression in Electron 11. Seems related to this bug: https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/4174

yes, i did use the script, and it seemed to work fine

FWIW I run Linux Mint 20 (Cinnamon) and have not seen anything like this.

I have an alias configured for updating...
