# Summary This pull request allows opening Joplin's editor in a new window us…ing [React's portal API](https://react.dev/reference/react-dom/createPortal#rendering-react-components-into-non-react-dom-nodes). While working, it currently has several major issues. As such, this pull request is intended mostly as a **proof of concept** that can be further developed if desired. # Known issues - [ ] Notes need to be reloaded to show updates. - [ ] All dialogs open in the main window. - [ ] All windows have the same editor+layout. - [ ] Opening settings closes all windows (except for the first). # Screen recording [multi-window-demo.webm](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9d4de6e1-2185-434a-ac37-a7068a1d831b)
