What issue do you have?

Hi everyone,

I’m really enjoying Joplin and currently use it synced between my Windows laptop and my Android smartphone. However, I’ve recently run into a major issue on the desktop side.

Joplin is taking an unusually long time to open on my Windows laptop. Instead of launching quickly like a standard note-taking app, the startup time feels like I'm loading a heavy PC game. Once it finally opens, it seems to run okay, but the initial launch is incredibly slow.

Here is some context about my setup:

System & App Details:

OS: Windows 11 25H2

Roughly how many notes/attachments you have: 2-3

Plugins installed: "None"

What I've noticed:

The Android app works perfectly fine and opens quickly.

The slow launch on Windows happens every time I open the app, not just after a fresh boot.

Has anyone else experienced this severe slowdown on Windows? Are there any cache folders I should clear.

How long roughly does it take to start now? And how long did it take before you had the issue?

Might the issue with portable Joplin, especially on HDD or USB.
