It's taking at least 30 seconds for the Joplin app to open on my Windows machine. All other apps take no longer than a 2-3 seconds. It's a relatively new install, with no additional plugins. Anyone know how I can speed it up? Thanks
Just to confirm, is Joplin actually installed in the system, or are you using the portable package? The latter is known to take a while to open, because it needs to unpack itself on each run.
This won't help with the initial startup - but if you go to "Tools → Options → Application" you can enable "Show tray icon". Then, closing the Joplin window just closes it to the tray icon - and when you open it by clicking the tray icon later, it opens nearly instantly.
I go a step further and also enable "Start application minimized in the tray icon", and have my computer start Joplin when it turns on - so the only time I ever have to suffer through the long load time is if I need it immediately after boot, or I had to restart the whole application for something plugin-related.
I think, until there's a fix for this, I'll do as you suggest and keep it running in the background. It's not ideal, but luckily I've enough RAM to do that.
