Why does everyone seem to be able to sync to server but me?

I've been toying with Joplin for months, waiting for new version, watching everyone else say it work for them. I upgrade, install server and never seem to be able to get it syncing.

Does anyone have the latest client & server syncing and sharing?

Joplin Server 2.1.1

The server / client sync works for me on a test set-up and has done to for quite a while. Admittedly my clients are still 2.1.9 which is the latest release version. I have not tested the client 2.2.2 pre-release with the server yet.

I think put errors have appeared before where a v1.x client was being used with a v2.x server (or the other way around) but that does not seem to be the case with your set-up.

One thing to try first would be to use the latest beta release of Joplin server. If the server version you have is 2.1.1 I am guessing you are using joplin/server:latest in your compose file. The latest tag is not currently being used as all server software is still beta. The latest tag was applied in error a while back for v2.1.1.

Use joplin/server:2.2.7-beta to pull the most up-to-date beta release (as of today) and see how you get on.

EDIT:

Client 2.2.2 syncing OK with server 2.2.7

Just searched this forum for "not allowed put" and posts indicate that for clients v2.1.7 or later you need server version v2.1.6-beta or later.

@dpoulton Thanks for your help. I've been trying every update for a long time but I know sometimes it takes a "magic potion" of just the right version.

I'll try this and report back

@dpoulton Thanks a million bro! You have restored my faith in Joplin
