What should I read first? Line spacing within a note

[I just migrated from Evernote to Joplin 2.12.15 by importing the exex files as markup.

When I edit a note now, the line spacing seems to be doubled, whereas the imported note (and my preference) is to use single line spacing (ie a return key puts the next text line directly beneath the previous one).
I don't understand much about the Joplin text editor yet, but is there an option somewhere that will change the line spacing?

Also, where should I start reading so I don't have to ask questions like this?
Is there a manual somewhere?

Thanks....

The manual is on the website under "help" - Joplin - an open source note taking and to-do application with synchronisation capabilities

You can also go to Help > Website and documentation within Joplin itself or press f1.

I assume you are using the richtext editor. You can insert a
instead of a
by pressing shift + return.
