I installed the App (Joplin 1.0.316) on a Huawei mate10lite (Android 8.0.0)
and on a desktop computer running Ubuntu 18.04 (Joplin 1.0.179 Rev.66356d8) with my nextcloud as webdav.
Every time I sync the notes I created, the viewer just show the markup links instead of the images I put in the notes. Its the same in the App and the desktop version.
Are there settings to fix this ?

Can you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
It seems most likely that your clients aren’t downloading attachments, but from your description, I’m not sure.
Are the Markdown links prefixed by a ! which causes an image to be displayed rather than just linked to?
I figured out, that there was a / missing after the : prefixing the link ID.
Before it looked like this:
then I put in the / as seen in the Joplin Welcome! Desktop note markdown column
I created some new notes, in the App and on Desktop and it works after sync.
