Hi,
I am the Romanian translator of many other open-source projects (MuseScore, Audacity, Batocera, KOReader...) and I want to help improve the Romanian translation in Joplin as well.
I know how to edit po files and commit them via a PR, but how can I test the translation locally before pushing?
In other projects, I compile the translation to a mo file and then copy it to the app. But here I noticed that the translation files are pak files. How do I export the po to a pak to test?
Thanks!
Are you able to build the app? In which case you can run yarn buildTranslations
from the root to rebuild the translation files. But if that's too much hassle don't worry, as most of the translation should be fine and mistakes can be fixed over time
I didn't try to compile the app, as I thought that I can just update the translations in an existing already compiled app. Ok, will try if I have time to compile, if not, will open the PR as it is and fix any issues on the go.

Are the words between parantheses translatable? Or should they be left as they are?
example: Sets the property <name> of the given <note> to the given [value]
