What issue do you have?
sync does not seem to complete on Pixel 7 android phone - recently added items do not come up in search and sync seems to be looping - now on 2800 items of 3000 - how can i tell if sync finished on mobile? are there any limits on number of notes? thanks.
can i get some help please?? mobile app can’t stop sync - how can i fix and tell if it is ever finishing? any logs? can’t find some of my notes - how can i fix PLEASE?
hello, only way most likely it to keep your phone on, and let it sync, overnight if you have to
but how do i tell if it is getting an error or not? it starts to sync every time i start joplin and there is no way i know of to keep the app running and screen on all night. should i reinstall? are there any known limits? i turned off attachments - will it warn you if out of space?
pc app says i have 28000 notes does that ring any bells as far as the mobile app goes? like i said - LOTS of duplicates.
You can keep the screen on permanently using a third party app such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=moe.zhs.caffeine
Or you can google how to enable developer options on your phone, and disable screen timeout from there.
With that many notes and using Dropbox sync on Android, I’d expect it to take at least an hour to sync from scratch, but maybe much more depending on whether you have lots of attachments, tags etc.
FYI there is no enforced limit to the amount of data you can have in Joplin, but with a large profile you can expect worse sync performance than a small one (even for incremental sync potentially, but to a much lesser extent than the initial sync), and there will be limit in practise, which is when the app becomes so unstable it is unusable. But that is really going to depend on the spec of your device and you’re probably nowhere near that limit

hello - thanks for the tips - i was able to get the full sync to complete (i believe) - please see screen shot - not 100% sure but it looks like it finished, but every time i started joplin and left screen on i came back to find the OS - joplin had crashed or closed at some point. but now i can find the recent items i was lookin for. in the desktop app i can see how many total notes there are, how to see this in the mobile app? how can i know the process is 100%? thanks!
On desktop go to Help, Synchronisation status, wait for the totals to be displayed
On mobile go to Configuration, Tools, Sync status, wait for the totals to be displayed (potentially may take a while)
Compare the totals on both devices to verify they are the same
