Fially got Joplin working this evening, syncing with Nextcloud uisnf WebDav.
I am surprised by the sync behaviour and ask if this is normal:
(i) I have 233 posts but sync creates over 600 remote objects.
(ii) sync does not seem to know if any object has been synced already so every time I do CTRL-S it goes through the entire collection again!
ON the Android app, sync works but the number of objects is even greater and again it seems to resync everything each time a sync is requested!
This can't be right? Is there some setting I am missing? I have nearly 20K notes in evernote that I thought I could bring over to Joplin but I'll be here for days just waiting for sync and won't get anything done!
On a general point I like the look of Joplin - it seems to do the job OK but there are some details that I need to get used to (sync for example!). I am not too happy about the recent redesign developments in Evernote and would like an alternative. Joplin seems right on the surface but if sync works this way by design it might put me off ...
An object is not only a note, can be a note revision, at attachment, or even a tag or a folder. So the number of objects synced alone does not mean much (as long as it's greated than zero, I guess).
I believe this is a limitation of WebDAV API (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
Under Help > Syncronisation status you can see the item count note, folder, ...
Yes, the WebDAV has no delta Sync. This is why WebDav is slower, but i have 35000+ items (5300 Notes and the Sync takes round about 12 seconds)
Do you see ever time a fetching item counter?
(i) It's normal there are much more objects than notes as @roman_r_m has mentioned.
(ii) It took me a loooooong time to make my 2000+ notes synced for the first time. And then it does delta sync (see the picture below) and usually takes 1-5 seconds. The time highly depends the bandwith or API limitations of the remote service. I'm using a WebDAV server built on my Synology NAS (use to use OneDrive and the speed is too bad).
I created a new note on PC and do sync:

Thanks for the replies ... appreciated. I've done some more syncing and it seems my initial observation was wrong. Sync seems to work fine after the initial set up. I panicked!

Thanks @jackgruber - I panicked a bit - sync seems to have settled down and I think it's working OK on NextCloud.
On a different topic in another post category I was suggesting a plugin that replicates the evernote widget that produces a TOC from a selected set of posts. Your plugin 'note overview' was recommended by @jb261 and looks like it does the job I need. Will play with it some more. Seems to work pretty well. Thanks.
