What issue do you have?

I've been using Evernote for over a decade mostly to store our digitized home office PDFs (about 6,000 PDFs) and also secondarily for note-taking (about 700 notes). I am in the process of offboarding from Evernote. I am ultimately moving the PDF archive to Paperless and the note-taking to Joplin.

Starting on my Windows desktop, I exported from Evernote as individual .enex files. I imported all of those into Joplin to take advantage of how Joplin would extract the PDFs for me to then import into Paperless. But as a result, Joplin started with about 6,700 notes, 6,000 of which had PDFs attached.

I then went through a sorting process and eventually deleted the 6,000 PDF notes from Joplin once I had them safely in Paperless, leaving about 700 notes, most with no attachments, which I then sorted into folders and tags like I wanted. All good so far.

At that point (a couple of days ago) I set up WebDAV sync to my Fastmail account and I installed the Android app on my phone and let it run through the initial sync. Last night I did a bit more organizing on the Windows app, and then this morning I launched Joplin on my phone again. It's been syncing for 15 minutes so far, and the Fetched Items count is up to 5265 and rising, and the Fetching resources count is up to 45,300 and rising.

I didn't expect this second sync to take so long since I'd already gone through the initial sync, and since that time all I've really done is move some of the remaining notes around into different folders. So, I'm just curious what the sync is doing and would like to understand more about the technical architecture.

When it says resources, what does that refer to? Why would there be.... 48,500 and counting resources in a system that only ever held 6,700 notes and 6,000 attachments, and since the last sync has only been 700 notes and almost no attachments? I'm not being critical, just geniunely curious and want to understand more of the architecture.

Is this typical? Did I screw up by starting out by putting in all that content and then removing most of it? Should I start over "clean"?

One of the things I did last night was create an errands todo list for today, and I expected to be able to open my phone and plan my day looking at that note, but I've been waiting a half hour so far and still don't have access to that note on my phone. Wondering how I can improve the situation.

Thanks for any and all wisdom you can share with a newbie! I'm excited to learn more about this platform and how to optimize my use of it.

Just an update, my phone was synchronizing all day yesterday - every time I opened the app and let it sit, it would synchronize for however long I let it. Sometime late last night it seems to have finally caught up. That was an intense initial sync!
