What issue do you have?

I have a problem right after the installation out of the Google Play Store (I am trying it on Android 14): I create a note book named "Test", press the "+" icon, and nothing happens. Suddenly my test ends.
What very basic issue am I missing?

I'm attaching a screen recording to show what happens when I:

  1. Open Joplin
  2. Create a new notebook named "Test"
  3. Press the "+" button

Note: This screen recording is from the web version (but I've also tried this on Android 13 with the Play Store version of Joplin.

  • Does the above screen recording match what you tried?

  • What happens after pressing the "+" button? Does Joplin crash?

  • Does pressing the "+" button work if the "Welcome" notebook is open?

  • Are there errors in configuration > tools > log?

    How to check

Thanks for the reply.
This resembles what I am doing. But when I press the "+" button, nothing happens. And there are no errors recorded.
And when I press the "+" button on the Welcome page, nothing happens, too.

One possibility is that this issue is related to animations. Does opening one of the notes in the welcome notebook, then pressing the menu button at top right cause a menu to appear (this action also uses an animation)?

I've also noticed that if I take longer than about half of a second to press the "+" button, nothing happens. Does tapping the "+" button quickly, with a smaller delay between touch start and end, help?

Does the issue also happen in the web version of Joplin mobile?

The problem was indeed the duration of button press: It has to be done Ninja style, fast as a lightning. The problem is that I have an illness that slows down my speed.
Now I can continue.
Is there any way to slow this down?

I've opened a pull request that should allow longer taps to open the "new note" menu:
