We won't add a warning because if a warning is needed then we failed adding the feature properly and it should be reviewed. Hopefully that won't be necessary but let's see.
Unfortunately now it's the Android version that can't be released because of changing Google requirements.
Also no news from Apple for the iOS version after 3 days and I suspect they'll reject because of changing requirement to publish a crypto-related app that gets distributed in France.
Me trying to release a new Joplin version:
If reasonable (e.g. Apple rejects the new version of Joplin and changes need to be made), consider rebuilding from the latest commit. Until this commit, syntax highlighting (bolding/italicizing/bigger font size for headers) was broken in the beta editor and it would be nice to avoid this regression.
Thank you for your hard work!
@laurent so basically, they're done and we're waiting for bureaucracy to run its course?
So I can manually install the current 2.9 win desktop + android and have the final release versions?`
Yes the latest Android and desktop pre-releases are both considered the production-ready releases at this point (this is what I'm trying to get in stores), so you can safely use them.
Let's see, but that might have to be part of 2.10 because there have been many package updates from Renovate since then, and I don't want to include these updates in 2.9.
Never mind! The regression I was referring to was caused by a Renovate package upgrade. If these aren't included in 2.9, the beta editor should work correctly!
Hi. Can we add the these fixes into the upcoming release?
commits
According to the commit history, the package updates don't affect these fixes, so I guess it's possible to include them by cherry-pick
?

Upgrading from 2.8.8 to 2.9.17
In 2.9.17 in the markdown editor, when I highlight some text and hit the backtick it replaces the highlighted text with the backtick.
In 2.8.8 it would surround the selected text with backticks.
Using the markdown editor - tested with preview siude by side and just editor.
Tested with spell checking unchecked - still an issue.
I have Tools -> Options -> Note -> Auto-pair checked.
Thanks
