What issue do you have?

What I understand after reading Help and forum posts is that the following are the "recommended" procedures for performing a sync to new laptop or restoring from a backup. Please provide any corrections, wrong assumptions, etc. Any other advice/guidance appreciated as well.

What I understand after reading Help and forum posts is that the following are the "recommended" procedures for performing a sync to new laptop or restoring from a backup. Please provide any corrections, wrong assumptions, etc. Any other advice/guidance appreciated as well.

New laptop install (Win11)

  • Install latest Joplin
  • Sign in to Joplin Cloud
  • Let Sync happen

Restore from Backup (Win11)

  • Determine latest backup with good data
  • Optionally backup entire profile directory
  • Open Joplin
  • Select All Notes
  • Delete
  • Let Delete run
  • Empty Trash
  • Let Sync with Joplin Cloud happen (?)
  • Confirm on Joplin Android no notes
  • Go back to Joplin desktop and import jex file
  • Let sync with Joplin Cloud happen
  • Confirm on mobile
