Password length on joplin server

Operating system

Linux

Joplin version

3.0.13

Sync target

Joplin Server

What issue do you have?

@laurent
After setting up Joplin Server on Docker I changed the standard login credentials. I logged ot and tried with the new credentials, but no success (yes they are the right ones, inserted from Keepass).
Is there a limitation on PW length? I used 75 characters with special characters, too.
How can I delete the user and reset it to the standard? Forgot my PW does not work.

I use this URL for syncing: https://user:pw@domain.com
Does this work also in the Andrid App and the iOS App?

For the DB Container you use postgress:16 in you sample docker compose file. Is this the latest compose file or do you use newer versions?

Thanks

Any information about this Want to kick my installation of

No idea if there is a password length limit. On very early Joplin Server releases I found that if Joplin Server did not like a new password it would appear to change it but not actually do it. I have a vague recollection that this was looked into and fixed, but it may be worth just trying the old password.

If you have not yet synced data the quickest way to reset the server is to shut it down and delete the contents of the Postgres data folder that you mapped as a folder on your system. Then when you restart the docker containers the folder will repopulate with the default data / account and you can start again.

I have no idea what you are doing there with that URL.

To sync to Joplin Server using the Joplin Desktop client go into the sync options, select Joplin Server as the Synchronisation target. Then add the server URL in the Joplin Server URL field, user email address in the Joplin Server email field and the user's password in the Joplin Server password field. Same for the mobile clients.
