Not sure of where to place this so I’ve put it in the Lounge section. Some comments on Joplin from a new user.:
The note heading title could do with being slightly larger with the date in a bolder or more obvious font. Better for those of us with impaired vision.
Synchronisation via Dropbox is easy and works well once set up.
I want to display text - say a citation - and paste a URL into the dialogue to create a link underneath the text. This may be a bug but I can’t paste URLs into the dialogue box. I can copy the URL but nothing happens when I try and paste it in.
Exporting data. Evernote to Joplin works easily and extremely well for both text and images. Going the other way is messy to put it mildly. YMMV of course.
Joplin is an Electron app so no doubt I’m whistling in the wind for any nod towards Mac UI guidelines. My real bugbear is that dialogues display the wrong way round. On a Mac, expected (or desired) action is highlighted on the right, Windows/Linux it’s on the left. Wouldn’t have thought it too difficult to create a set of Mac dialogues with them the “correct” way round which could be dropped in but I’m not a programmer. There used to be a Mac program called ResEdit which would do the job but that’s long since been defunct
Joplin shows a lot of promise as an Evernote replacement but I think it might be a few versions before it replaces it. Definitely getting there though.
