New note button and search field not showing

What issue do you have?

The New Note button and search field no longer show. Makes Joplin worthless. What happened/how do I correct?

Please try hitting F11 on the keyboard to unhide note list.

Thanks, that got me a page with a search field and New Note button - only the my notes are no longer accessible except as a search result. What happened to the normal Joplin display and how do I get both???

Try View > Reset application layout

Thanks again, I have gotten the layout back to normal with the search field and New note buttons showing but the menu bar is still missing (File, View, etc). In attempting to recover the search field and New note buttons I changed a setting that dropped it and I haven't figured out how to get it back.

CTRL+SHIFT+M

or press the ALT key to temporarily bring it back and use View > Toggle menu bar to make it permanent again.
