Buttons for New Task/New Note Disapearing?

Dear all,
has anyone else noticed that the buttons for "New to-do" and "New Note" sometimes disappear? A restart of the application always solves the problem, but since this has occurred 3 times since installing version 2.3.5 I thought I'd mention it.

They disappear when you click in the search field or focus it with Cmd+Shift+F.
