After decades of using windows and linux on seperate machines I have finally moved entriely to linux (Manjaro) . I had Joplin on my window machine and used the backup pluging to create a backup.
Sadly what it created is no use when trying to reimport to the linux version. I still have the windows subdirectory which I can mount and look at so the question is, is there anyway I can use this to import my Joplin instance fully into my linux instance?
from memory I believe thats what I used. When I look at what is produced apart from no note content there is no sqlite database and the jex file is small relative to what I expected.
I assumme that it also backs up the attachments in the resource database.
Its m y fault I should have checked it before I moved to linux.
Its a one off event I just need to be able to recover it somehow.
Is the desktop profile directory and format the same i.e. can I just copy the windows files to the new linux instance....I guess the sqlite DB index might be wrong given that its a new instance...
I think I dug a hole here
many thanks for any help
Sometimes the .jex exportation doesn't work properly. You can see this immediatly if you export again without changing nothing : the new jex file size is different ! That's why everytime I use a jex exportation I do it two times to be sure the exportation worked well. It's the case if the two jex files have the same size.
