Missing cursor in Terminal app on FreeBSD

FreeBSD 13.0

I recently starting experimenting with FreeBSD, and installed FreeBSD on an extra Dell Optiplex I had lying around. I was able to get the Terminal app version of Joplin working, but for whatever reason, the cursor is invisible in VI mode. Anyone have any ideas about how to get the cursor to appear? (I tested VI separately in other terminal windows and the cursor appears as normal).
