Logging to iOS/Dropbox remotely deletes notes on initial sync?

Operating system

iOS

Joplin version

12.13.10

Sync target

Dropbox

What issue do you have?

Hi, I just discovered Joplin and imported my Evernote stuff. Sign-in and sync worked fine on WIndows and Android, but installing on my iPad made me panic because after signing in to Dropbox and hitting 'sync' the status message started counting the files it's remotely deleting! I expected to see all my notes getting synced down to the iPad, not remote deletion. I cancelled the sync and I'm trying to figure out what I lost out of my ~600 notes but I need to know what I did wrong. Can anyone help?

I can‘t tell what happened, but if I were you I would disconnect the windows device from network before starting Joplin to prevent a sync. Then I‘d do a backup, if I’was not using the simple backup plugin already.

I had a similar issue this past weekend as I installed Joplin on Win11 and iOS, I installed on iOS first, then Win11. I imported thousands of notebooks from Evernote to Joplin, when the Win11 sync'd, it first appeared as though everything was being deleted, when it was all, everything was just fine.
