Is the system low on memory when Joplin crashes?
If so, here are a few things to try:
- On the ASUS notebook, go to settings > plugins and disable the backup plugin.
- Each plugin runs in a new process, which has some overhead.
- Disable OCR (if it's enabled) (settings > general > "Enable optical character recognition (OCR)").
- Enable safe mode (Help > Toggle safe mode).
- Safe mode disables some Joplin features (including plugins) that could be causing the issue.
A large number of notebooks and/or tags (several hundred or more) can also make Joplin slow. If this is the issue it may be improved in the Joplin 3.0.6 pre-release. If this is the case however, I would expect Joplin to be slow on both computers.
