Joplin works on desktop, crashes on notebook

Is the system low on memory when Joplin crashes?

If so, here are a few things to try:

  1. On the ASUS notebook, go to settings > plugins and disable the backup plugin.
    • Each plugin runs in a new process, which has some overhead.
  2. Disable OCR (if it's enabled) (settings > general > "Enable optical character recognition (OCR)").
  3. Enable safe mode (Help > Toggle safe mode).
    • Safe mode disables some Joplin features (including plugins) that could be causing the issue.

A large number of notebooks and/or tags (several hundred or more) can also make Joplin slow. If this is the issue it may be improved in the Joplin 3.0.6 pre-release. If this is the case however, I would expect Joplin to be slow on both computers.
