What issue do you have?

I had some issues synching Joplin using DropBox (Resetting Joplin Sync to Android Using Dropbox).

I configured OneDrive and had similar problems with the initial sync!

In my previous post, @graphit0 said:

Hey there, please note Joplin does not have a background sync on mobile devices. When Joplin is closed, sent to the background or the device is put into sleep (display off), the sync is interrupted.

Could you reinstall the app and run initial sync without any interruptions?

I'm going to try Joplin Cloud. However, if it has the same issue with background sync, I'm going to have to give up on Joplin...

Try using a caffeine app or solutions from Don't kill my app! to keep your phone screen on while Joplin syncs.

I understand lack of background sync in Joplin might be frustrating. The issue resides with the main framework Joplin developed on. The issue is very high priority and keeps on being reviewed for opportunities of solution but, despite enormous attention, at present moment there's simply no feasible solution.

Sadly, there's no fundamental difference in sync target regarding the background sync, however since Joplin Cloud dramatically improves speed of sync, background sync becomes less of an issue. Hopefully, you'll notice it and stay with us

Cheers

Thanks @graphit0, I will try Joplin Sync!

I was wondering if anyone has tried FolderSync (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.lite). When testing Obsidian, I used FolderSync to sync files to my Android Phone. The sync works perfectly!

Unfortunately, the Obsidian conversion from Evernote is abysmal: it changes the last modified date of the notes! I even found a doc on converting from Evernote to Obsidian that suggested using Joplin as an intermediate step (How to Migrate Your Notes: Evernote to Obsidian)!

Best,

John

Here's my entry in the Obsidian forum:

No response after a week!

FolderSync might work but honestly, using filesystem sync with a chain of syncing services (especially on mobile) requires advanced skillset and a lot of babysitting

So, even though it can work and can work well, I don't recommend it since new user can easily corrupt their database and lose all notes

Joplin Cloud seems to be working very well @graphit0!

I have a non-sync question, I will start a new topic!
