Joplin for Windows didn't sync properly to Android. I had imported a number of ENEX files all at once so I decided to clean it all up and try importing them into Joplin one at a time.
I deleted my Joplin profile in Windows: C:\Users\john.config\joplin-desktop
I cleared data in Joplin for Android
I imported my LinkedIn ENEX file (the smallest one)
I configured sync to Dropbox in Joplin for Windows
I started to synchronize manually in Joplin Windows
I noticed after a while that Joplin had a huge number of Fetched items:
Created local items: 1146
Created remote items: 1219
Fetched items: 16186/16499
I started seeing notebooks from the synched Android Dropbox folder in Joplin for Windows
I cancelled the sync on Joplin Windows and closed Joplin
I deleted the Joplin Profile on Windows
I deleted the data in Joplin for Android
I deleted all files in D:\Dropbox\Apps\Joplin (43892 items selected)
message: deleting 55,803 items from Joplin
only desktop.ini was left in D:\Dropbox\Apps\Joplin
I configured Dropbox sync in Joplin for Windows
I did a manual Dropbox sync
Created local items: 32
Created remote items: 9
Fetched items: 15070/15499
then saw this for a while:
Created local items: 32
Created remote items: 9
Fetched items: 15070/15499
Cancelling...
a couple of hours later (2024.02.11 @ 09:08), exactly the same thing:
Created local items: 32
Created remote items: 9
Fetched items: 15070/15499
Cancelling...
What is the proper procedure to use if I want to clean up Joplin in order to start the sync all over from the beginning?
Hey there, please note Joplin does not have a background sync on mobile devices. When Joplin is closed, sent to the background or the device is put into sleep (display off), the sync is interrupted.
Could you reinstall the app and run initial sync without any interruptions?
Thanks @graphit0 I will review your suggestions and try again.
I converted a very small ENEX file from Evernote that only had 251 notes in it. My Joplin database.sqlite file is only 13 MB. I'm not sure why this is so difficult.
