What issue do you have?

Guys, it looks like 3.3.9 version is tooooooo sloooow. It works very badly on my macOs with 24 Gb of RAM.. It's strange that I just install it because of automatic notification about a new version. My previos version worked a lot better 3.2.13
If the new version 3.3.9 is really raw and not ready for use, why Joplin offered to use it automatically?

Thank you for reporting this!

Is this an ARM MacOS device (e.g. an M1 Mac)? If so, the issue might be with the release downloader and re-downloading Joplin from the website might help — the x86_64 version of Joplin is known to run slowly on MacOS ARM.

For more details, see Joplin became unusably slow on MacOS after upgrade to 3.3.3 · Issue #11989 · laurent22/joplin · GitHub.
Edit: If this is the case, Joplin should show a warning banner. If no such warning banner is visible, this is probably not the issue.

Another possibility is that this is related to OCR — in v3.3, OCR processing was enabled by default. Does disabling OCR in settings > general, then restarting Joplin help?

See also Optical Character Recognition (OCR) | Joplin.

Actually I just reinstall 3.3.9 manually - take the version for amd64 from Installation | Joplin - and it helps, now Joplin works very nice as usual.
So the problem, as I understand, was in auto downloading incorrect version for my MacOs M4 model by the app

3.3.9 should have displayed the warning asking to update. It's annoying that it didn't apparently

This was not fun. I can understand that a universal app would make a huge download. But I've never seen an app so slow using Rosetta.

Not to dog pile, but I let Joplin install the update (not a fan of how it updates) on my M3 and also had a super slow, unusable experience with the new version. I quit the app and manually downloaded the ARM version and now Joplin is working as expected.

Is anyone else seeing problems with the toolbar? The buttons do not align with their function. All my plugins are updated, but I will try to disable some to see if there is a conflict with a plugin.

Yep, it's the macOS theme (v1.5.14) plugin that is causing this issue for me.
