With Joplin 1.0.201 and before it was possible to minimise Joplin to the system tray. Just upgraded Joplin on my laptop to 1.0.214 using the script and the tray icon no longer appears. Htop suggests that the Joplin appimage IS running. Tested again by installing Joplin onto a VM with an unmodified version of Mint 19.3. No icon. Used the same (reset) VM with 1.0.201 and the tray icon was present.

Thanks for pointing that out. I normally check GitHub as well before posting but this time I didn’t and of course this time the answer was there!!! My bad…
