How to troubleshoot suddenly glacial Dropbox sync?

What issue do you have?

Starting sometime over the last couple weeks, Dropbox sync from Mac OS desktop app has turned glacially slow for me. Same issue on two different machines, both Apple silicon. No errors - sync eventually finishes, but changing a single line on a single note could take upwards of five minutes to sync. Given no errors, I'm not sure where/how to start troubleshooting.

No changes to my network, everything seems to check out there. No custom DNS, not on a VPN, etc. I searched through open issues on Github and didn't see anything that jumped out at me.

There were a couple desktop app updates recently, not sure if it's specific to a certain version.

This may have been a problem with Apple Private Relay being down for days, cleared up now
