Help with sync using android and windows10 via onedrive

Operating system

Android

Joplin version

3.0.15

Sync target

OneDrive

What issue do you have?

I am having trouble getting onedrive on windows to synch with an android phone (Galaxy S23). Does this actually work? If so, can someone supply a reasonably clear and concise way on doing this. I have even tried exporting *.jex notes via email attachment and importing that jex file on hte S23. This results in duplicates on both sides (windows and S23) with the table data on the S23 side but without table data on the Windows side.

Welcome to the forum!

This is from a different thread, but it contains information how to sync properly, i.e. not to copy from one client to another as you did, but download from server. In order to do that both clients have to be set to OneDrive by following "Options/Synchronisation/Synchronisation Target".

Both are set to One drive! Not Dropbox. Still need help.

Strange enough - Onedrive should behave the same as Dropbox when set as sync target. In the past there were numerous reports of instability concerning Joplin and Onedrive in particular (which can be found here in the forum), but that's a thing of the past, I thought.

In my case, Onedrive sync is slow, but stable (and has been so for approx. two years). Maybe someone else reading this can pinpoint the problem and find a solution.
