Hi, I’m a student at UBC in Canada looking to participate this summer. I have some prior experience with React and I heard about Joplin through HackerNews.

Thanks for your interest in Joplin and welcome here! Perhaps the next step would be to look a bit at these projects and see how they can be implemented, maybe research the packages that could be used, etc. It might be worth looking at bug reports too, to see if there are some that could be relevant to your interests and would be able to fix.
