I know this has been asked several times before but one of the replies was that the developer is thinking of introducing global shortcut keys, but that was 4 years ago and still nothing.
Basically, what I mean is this: pressing something like Ctrl+Alt+N from anywhere (even with the Joplin window closed) opens an empty new note window, similar to Evernote and OneNote. This is the only reason I still haven't migrated from Evernote.
I have found a workaround on Windows: I can place the Joplin app on the taskbar (i.e. 1st position), click Win+1 to bring the app to the foreground, then press Ctrl+N to create a new note and then Ctrl+Alt+N to open this new note in a new window. However, this involves three steps compared to just one and can be an overkill when you quickly want to jot down a note during a Zoom meeting for instance.
Do we know if global shortcut keys are finally coming to Joplin? Any ETA?
