I don't think it's too far fetched to be asking the original poster here ...
I wonder if Joplin could somehow detect that a plugin is causing slowdown and suggest to the user to disable it? Kinda like when Firefox says "this page is slowing down Firefox. Do you want to stop it? YES/NO"
