Emoji dropped from folder name?

Hi,
it seems that Joplin does not support emoji anymore in the folder name ?

  2. mobile

  3. joplin-web

did you notice that ?

I just saw the save behavior with emoji in note title and note body :frowning:

Interesting, afaik the welcome notes use emoji. Oh, that's just for the note titles.

But I took one emoji and added it to the folder:

It seems to work:

Joplin 1.3.3 (dev, darwin)

Client ID: e354a932e6e143c782264aad4112b674
Sync Version: 2
Profile Version: 34
Keychain Supported: Yes

Revision: 71bf0437c (dev)

Your menu bar is a bit strange with the serif font. Is that Linux? And do you use a non-standard font?

It might be related to the use of the Roboto font family for the UI but not sure. If that's what it is I guess we should use a fallback for Linux.

I set "UnBatang" font (an asian one for my Hangul charaters) in the Joplin setting for the editor and on my ubuntu settings.
I'm going rollback to "ubuntu regular" to see

I upgraded to 1.3.7 too and change the name of my folder by dropping the emoji and added it again
:kr: but I just have square.
"j'ai la poisse" :stuck_out_tongue:

i removed the emoji :frowning: that will be better instead of having square.

Ok but it should work with emojis. Even with Ubuntu Regular font it wasn't working?

That was ok with ubuntu regular until I started to drop unecessary fonts.
I even reset to the default ubuntu settings to get the default fonts settings.
nothing is fixed.
too bad

My emojis are back with

sudo apt install fonts-noto-color-emoji
