Welcome to the forum, @ryan!
Did you change Joplin’s font by any chance?
This is a long shot, but try adding Segoe UI Emoji
font as fallback font in custom CSS.
Here’s how to do it:
Joplin -> Tools -> Options -> Show Advanced Settings -> Custom stylesheet for Joplin-wide app styles
Add following CSS snippet and save:
body {
font-family: "<YOUR_DEFAULT_FONT>", "Segoe UI Emoji";
}
Hello. I have similar problem after updating from 1.0.200 version of Joplin. Most of the emoji are just error squares and other are in black and white color (attached screenshot). I’m using Kubuntu 20.04 and Joplin version 1.0.216. The proposed font change did not work. I did not change Joplin’s font only thing that I did was an update.
Greeting.
