Create table button in the editor toolbar on desktop

There should be a create table button in the editor toolbar on desktop which prompts a dialog box to enter no. of rows and columns and creates a table.
Also, when a user presses “enter” after the last row, a new row should be added to the table like a new list item is added when pressed enter after the last item of list .

For info this has already been suggested (example below). Not checked to see if there is a PR for it yet...

Hello folks,

is there any update on this feature ? It's very irittating to try to draw a table instead of using a simple button as in "rich text" mode!

@sashsz welcome to the forum.

I have not tried it but this plugin appears to add a table button to the Markdown editor toolbar as well as other table related features.
