Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is it possible to have joplin notes automatically generate a consecutive id? For example [Joplin-1], [Joplin-2] et cetera? This in the title, making it easy to reference a note from a todo list.

There is no ID in the way you describe it, in my opinion. It certainly doesn't show in the title.
But each note does have an internal ID, and you can link to it manually from other notes, or using plug-ins which improve the handling in some ways or other. This is available regardless of the titles you use.
