What issue do you have?

Hello :grinning_cat:

I've noticed this quite a while ago and I'm not sure if this should be a bug / feature req or if there's a way around this:

When I use German style quotation marks („“) Joplin helpfully tries to add an opening English(?) quotation mark to the closing marks. So if I write
„Test
and then try to close them with “ instead Joplin does
„Test“”
and when I then delete “ the closing mark (”) gets deleted as well.
So what I have to do is write both marks first („“) and then put my text inside it („Test“).
Which works but I often forget to do it, so I end up with „Test“” and it's all a big mess.

Any ideas what to do here?

In Joplin, is this setting ticked:

Tools -> Options -> Editor -> Auto-pair braces, parentheses, quotations, etc.

Does changing the setting matter for your issue?

That's it, amazing! Thanks a lot :sparkling_heart:
