Feature request: Auto-close/autocomplete quotes, optionally

In Joplin, you type a quotation mark once and it automatically creates two quotation marks, with the cursor in the middle.

Many people find this useful, but I would like to turn it off.

Could it be an optional feature, with the ability to toggle it in preferences?

I’m with you on this. I tend to really dislike autocomplete in any form. I make it work but I’d love it to be optional. I’m a relatively fast typist and the autocomplete stuff always throws off my typing rhythm.
